Heart Catheterization

A heart catheterization is a procedure performed by your Cardiologist in a hospital setting that diagnoses heart disease. During the procedure a catheter is inserted into an artery and X-ray contrast is injected. The contrast flows to the heart, and X-ray images are taken of the heart and arteries so that the Cardiologist can visualize abnormalities in the heart muscle, valves, and blood vessels.
